The Ghosthunter Dan Norvell Project is starting to get into custom shirts and hats for our team members. Since we're working on that, we decided to give all of you the opportunity to cast your vote on the matter. Would you be interested in some GDNP merchandise through Squad Locker? We as the team receive no money from the purchases and hope that you'll purchase the products to support your efforts.

When we post pictures of interest, we want to make sure that we can't explain what the heck it is we are looking at. The pictures that we determine are "Pics of Interest" we look at again and again and finally make the decision that "Yes...this is the real deal." The first picture in this blog is one of our best and was taken by my sister Ghosthunter Julie Norvell. My sister Julie was standing in the basement area of the Vet's Hall and was alone. This area has reported paranormal activity and Julie was taking pictures and saturating the area with UV pictures. My sister said that at the time, she was feeling as though she was being watched and she did not feel threatened....only watched. She took this picture and low and behold.....she was being watched. This is one of the ghosts that we believe is haunting the Vet's Hall today. We have documented numerous happenings in the Vet's Hall, but this is the best picture we have caught at this location to date. Upon our return to the Vet's Hall on December 8th, 2018.....we hope to capture more pictures of the Spirits that reside there. When we are able to catch an anomaly or other phenomena at a location, it just reinforces the things that are people are experiencing at these haunted locations when they are either there working, or investigating themselves. The fact that this picture was caught at one of our favorite locations that we have the honor of investigating, makes it even better for us. We appreciate every chance we are given to investigate these locations.
In this picture we see what we believe to be the head of one of the militia soldiers that was killed during the first eng
agement of the Blackhawk War of 1832. This picture was captured at Stillman Valley, Illinois. The picture was captured in UV by Ghosthunter Dan while out taking pictures at different locations with his daughter on a late summer afternoon. The soldier that we believe was captured here is Captain John Giles Adams. Capt. Adams was killed during the battle, and was disemboweled and also beheaded after the Warriors belonging to Blackhawk's British Band had won the battle. We have traveled to this location a number of times and the location never disappoints us. We haven't caught another picture that provides us with as many questions and answers as this one, but we have had successful EVP and Ghostbox sessions on many occasions. I will be sharing more pictures and the stories that go along with them in future articles. Thanks for following what we do.

Rockford Illinois is home to one of the most historic and beautiful buildings that I have ever had the pleasure and honor to investigate. Not only is the Veteran's Memorial Hall historic, but it is also very haunted. The first time I ever had the chance to investigate the Vet's Hall was a few years back and I can't get enough ever since. I have investigated the Vet's Hall quite a bit since that first time. The Vet's Hall has some of the best artifacts from soldiers in every was dating back to our nation's own Civil War. Out of all of the haunted locations I have stepped into so far, this is my favorite. One reason is that the Vet's Hall never disappoints. We are never there without finding or experiencing something new. Often times as with any investigation, answers lead to more questions. This is an issue that every investigator faces when doing what we do. The Vet's Hall is the first "BIG" building I had ever investigated. Now we have video clips and pictures and even an Episode of Expedition Entity from the Vet's Hall. One of the best pictures we have ever caught was captured right in the basement of this historic building. The last investigation I was on here was with just three of us in the building. Larry, Steve, and I were doing a Ghostbox session in front of the stage on the second floor and I observed a shadow walk right up to within about four feet of us and disappear into the floor. The first solo session that our team has ever done was also done right here in the Vet's Hall by me. I did get some K2 responses during that solo session, and it did become very intense toward the end, but it didn't reveal a lot of information to us. At least not as much as we had hoped for. I have done many EVP and Ghostbox sessions at this location and we always seem to catch something. On December 8th, 2018 we will be returning to the Vet's Hall for a special investigation that will bring some local media into our world of hunting and chasing ghosts and spirits. I am hoping that they will be able to experience some of the same phenomena that we as a team have been able to. The Spirits at the Vet's Hall are not negative. They are the Spirits of the men and women that have sacrificed for our country and are still honored and still call the Vet's Hall home. If you want to learn more about the Veteran's Memorial Hall...check out our Investigations tab here on the website and look for Vet's Hall.

A few months back I had made contact with one of the local restaurant owners in my hometown of Kirkland, Illinois. This restaurant is housed in the building where I had my first paranormal experience. Years ago when I was 13 years old, I was walking toward the downtown area of Kirkland. As I was walking I took notice of a dark figure wearing what appeared to be a drover coat and a full brimmed hat. I kept pace with him as I walked, me on my side of the street and the figure on the other side of the street. As we neared the building, the figure turned and walked right through a door that had been sealed for years. I stood and stared in disbelief at what I had just witnessed. "I had just seen a ghost!" I thought to myself. So now, fast forward a bunch of years ( I refuse to say how old I am ) we had the chance to investigate the very building that I had observed the shadowy figure disappear into. I have to admit that I was looking forward to this for a lot of years. I would be returning to the location with my partner Larry and our team sensitive Tessa. This investigation was also extra special for me because it was the first time my daughter Lexi would be joining me for an investigation. We did not take the rest of the team on this investigation due to the small size of the location. We did our initial walk through and let Tessa get her impressions of what or who might be there while we saturated the location with UV and IR pictures. We did some Ghostbox sessions without many results. My daughter did do a solo EVP session and said that she did feel a presence in the room as she did her session. We did do K2 sessions as well and had some decent results with the K2 meter. Tessa and I did a Ghostbox session in the main part of the restaurant where nobody had ever experienced anything. Amazingly, Tessa and I got some very good responses. We finished the night with a EVP/Ghostbox session at the bar area of the restaurant. We have always had very good responses anytime we have ever done EVP and Ghostbox sessions in bar areas. We had good responses and were even able to get one of the Spirits to cross over at the end of the investigation. The restaurant still has a couple of residents there and the location is haunted, but the Spirits that remain are happy with the owners and the location and do not seem to want to go anywhere soon. I for one am happy that I now have some confirmation of what I had seen so many years back.

Starved Rock State Park is a treasure in Northern Illinois. It is filled with beauty and rock formations and wildlife. Starved Rock also has a dark history. A haunted history. I have traveled to St. Louis Canyon in Starved Rock many times to investigate the Starved Rock murders that took place in 1960. On March 14th, 1960. three women were sexually assaulted and beaten to death by a man that still to this day proclaims his innocence. My belief is that the man that perpetrated this act is the man that is in the Illinois Department of Corrections rotting in his cell. I believe that they got the right man. Where does that leave the spirits of the three women that were so brutally beaten to death with a branch from a tree and their bodies shoved into a cave not to be found and removed until days later? I set out to find those answers. To try and give those women a voice. I believe that we have. The first time I entered St. Louis Canyon I was overwhelmed with the high rock walls that surrounded it. The soft and melodic sound of the waterfall that drains into the canyon gently finding it's way to the canyon floor into a small pool. The birds flying from tree to tree singing their songs of Spring. I also felt the heavy feeling of anguish and despair. The first time I entered the cave where the bodies were found and recovered, I felt sadness. I felt as though there was someone there that was crying out. I felt that there was someone there trying to give me an account of their last moments of life....their last breaths of air....as the life was beaten out of their bodies. I decided that as Ghosthunter Dan, I would try to give those women that voice. The voice that was never given after being snuffed out and covered by heavy snow so many years ago. The first thing I did after my initial visit to St. Louis Canyon was purchased the book, "The Starved Rock Murders" that was available in the gift shop of the lodge that is nestled on one of the bluffs at the park. I read the book, I looked up information on the internet, and I researched the murderer. When I returned for my first investigation of the cave, I was with my good friend Randy Deacon. We lugged our equipment down the narrow paths and trials along the ridges that allowed access to the canyon. After our nearly mile and a half hike, we broke out our gear and began our investigation of the cave and surrounding area. We spent about an hour at the site, and other than a couple of K2 hits that I can't explain....we got nothing. I felt beaten as we trudged out of the deep canyon hauling our equipment with us. I felt as though I had given those women a chance to communicate with us, and they hadn't taken that chance. "Would the spirits ever tell their story?" I thought. It was on our second visit to St. Louis Canyon that I would receive my answer. I was again joined by my friend Randy and we had repeated the same tests as before. This time we didn't even get the K2 meter to spike. Feeling defeated, I sat with my back in one of the corners of the cave. I thought to myself, "Is there anyone of these women that want to give me an answer?" Just then, from behind me, I heard a woman's voice whisper, "Help me!" I asked Randy if he had heard the voice. He said he heard a whisper, but was not sure what it had said. I had heard her voice. I had heard her loud and clear. It was a cry for help. The sound of a dying voice muttering the last two words that would ever cross that woman's lips. I had heard the disembodied voice pleading for me to help her. That is what I was going to try to do.

In October, Larry and I were asked if we would be interested in taking our team to the next level of Paranormal Investigations. We had a phone conference with Mike from Paranormal Warehouse and decided that this would be a great fit for us and for them with what we are trying to do to further the field. We decided to move Expedition Entity exclusively to Paranormal Warehouse's YouTube channel for upcoming seasons and season 1 will be featured and only seen there after January. With season 1 wrapped and the last episode featuring the Egyptian Theater coming in the next couple of weeks.....this seemed a perfect time to make you all aware of what is going on with Expedition Entity. In the future we are also going to be trying Expedition Entity LIVE and will be trying some different streaming options. Our first try at Conover Square showed us that if we are going to stream successfully, we are going to have to take our equipment to the next level. We are looking into that currently and will have to see what funding options are available in the new year to try and accomplish that for future broadcasts. In the meantime.....we will be talking with Mike and Breggs and getting some ideas on how to make it entertaining, informative, and successful in the near future. We do have options and have learned the hard way with our snafus at Conover Square. We are going to use it as a learning experience and move onward and upward. Understand that Conover LIVE was our first attempt at streaming Live to YouTube and we found out that YouTube will only stream LIVE if a certain quality of signal is maintained. It was not possible for us to maintain that quality of signal with our current tech. In 2019 that is all going to change. We are proud to have partnered with such an amazing organization and look forward to being part of their positive endeavors to make the paranormal field a much better place. Have a nice night everyone.

On November 10th, 2018 The Ghosthunter Dan Norvell Team visited and attempted to investigate the historic and haunted Conover Square in Oregon, Illinois. The first thing I want to say, is Steve and Josiah that run the ghost tours at Conover Square are professional and very helpful. If it weren't for them.....we would have had no investigation that night whatsoever. Larry and I have been plagued by equipment malfunctions for about a month now. (We are thinking of using sage on our equipment.) We attempted to Livestream the investigation for Paranormal Warehouse on YouTube and it was not going to happen from the start. We found out that YouTube has to maintain a certain quality of video for a Live broadcast and we could not maintain that quality from the location. After trying for 3 hours......we finally decided to investigate. This is where Steve and Josiah shined as the ghost guys of Conover. They actually investigated with us, and in my opinion, enhanced the investigation exponentially. Steve and Josiah led us to the hot spots in Conover Square and those spots did not disappoint. We had shadow play, disembodied voices, and our team sensitive Tessa was touched on her arm. I am not going to get into the history of Conover heavily here, but you can find further information at www.conoverghosts.com. With personal experiences, I only had one. We were in the basement and Steve was telling us about the activity that many people have witnessed there. The room we were in was vast and the Rock River flows only about 30 yards out of the window in this room. We were in pitch blackness with the only light being the IR light from Larry's camera he was filming our session with. We did EVP and Ghostbox here. We had a few responses, but what I had happen was a bit unnerving. I felt a cold flow of heavy air pass by my left side and the room seemed to get colder than it already was. Steve and Tessa could feel the difference in the coolness as well. Conover had many different spots that had activity to offer, and I cannot wait to return and document all of them. If you have the chance, I would suggest you go and experience Conover Square for yourself. I can pretty much promise that you won't be disappointed. Thanks again to Steve and Josiah for their help in making the night one to remember.
Hey everyone, Ghosthunter Larry here. This post is basically a place holder for our front page display showing Ghosthunter Dan's upcoming blogs. In this blogs, Dan will take the time to talk to you guys about certain subjects of the paranormal, but also talk about the personal experiences the team felt during some of our investigations. While some of the experiences make it into the videos, a lot of the time they don't and we still wanted to be able to provide those to you guys in some form.
