![]() I have been fortunate enough to visit President Lincoln's Tomb about 4 times in my lifetime. I do intend on returning soon to visit the final resting place of our 16th President once more. Every time I am able to visit the Battleground Cemetery in Stillman Valley, Illinois......it makes me proud to know that a young Captain Abraham Lincoln stood at that site, and helped to bury those 12 men that were slain there that day in 1832. The spirit of President Lincoln is alive and well even to this day in the State of Illinois. The President was a people person, and would always tip his hat with a smile as he would stroll home from his Law Office in Springfield, Illinois. One thing that I find disturbing is the trip that the President's mortal remains had to take until he was laid to his final rest. The President was slain in 1865. The tomb that is pictured above had to be torn down, and rebuilt because of the ground that it was built on. The tomb closely resembles the original structure. In the original structure, the President's body was placed into a marble sarcophagus and placed into the tomb. Grave robbers later tried to steal the President's body and were stopped. The Gentleman that was charged with overseeing the tomb later removed the coffin containing the President and placed it in the basement of the tomb and covered the coffin with boards and other rubbish in the basement to make it appear as a pile of dirt. Not a very fitting way for Springfield's favorite son to be resting....The President's body was later joined in the basement of the tomb by his wife Mary Todd and both the President and Mrs. Lincoln laid there in shallow graves with 6 inches of dirt over them. Nobody but a select few people knew that the President and Mrs. Lincoln were even there. Later when the tomb was being repaired, the man responsible for hiding the bodies in the basement could not take it anymore........knowing that the construction workers were trampling over the bodies of the President and Mrs. Lincoln. The President's son Robert was contacted and it was decided to rebuild the tomb. The President and Mrs. Lincoln - including other members of the President's family were placed in a 10 foot deep hole and covered with cement slabs with 24 guard on duty to ensure that nobody would try to steal the President's body yet again. After the new tomb was completed, the President was laid into a cement hole that was 10 feet deep and covered with concrete at the direct request of his son Robert. It was said that Robert was tired of his father being moved and he was also appalled to hear rumors that the coffin of the President had been opened several times. Robert Lincoln knew that tons of concrete would ensure that nobody would ever open his father's coffin again, and nobody would ever be able to steal the body either. In 1901 - 36 years after his death - The President was finally laid to his final rest and still is there to the present. It is said that shadows resembling the President's long and lanky stature have been seen in the tomb at night, and that coughing can sometimes be heard coming from the tomb as well. For me.....my interests are not in going here for an investigation. My interest is that our slain president is finally at rest, and my sincere hope is that his rest has been peaceful......he sure waited long enough for it. Ghosthunter Dan

![]() Does Nibiru exist? This planet is said to come into our Solar System and pass very close to the Asteroid belt on its orbit which will cause catastrophic weather events, Tsunamis, Earthquakes, and a full polar shift for Earth. NASA denies the existence of Planet X. Most scientists say that if Planet X did exist......we would have seen it by now. There is a man that wrote several books on the existence of Nibiru. He claims that through his deciphering of certain texts and hieroglyphs.......that Nibiru in fact does exist. He even goes on to say that humankind was created by the inhabitants of Planet X as workers for them. Many people think the world is coming to an end........and they are citing Nibiru as the culprit. My opinion......there is no Planet X......there is no Nibiru.......unless that is the name of the button that the President pushes when he decides to unleash our Nuclear arsenal. I am more concerned about a rogue asteroid hitting the Earth before I am going to dwell on a rogue planet. Just wanted to share my thoughts on Planet X with you all. Have a good night. Ghosthunter Dan ![]() We have all heard of ESP. Extra Sensory Perception. The ability to communicate with others without speaking. Sense others thoughts without being in the same room with them. Feeling their pain and they are hundreds of miles away. I am not talking about ESP. What I am talking about is what I am calling Enhanced Perception. When I first started thinking about the possibility of EP (Enhanced Perception) was when I was writing my first book. I attempted to place myself into the ghosts shoes. I tried to look at what might be through the eyes of a dead person. Try to place myself into the frustration of not being heard. Try to think about wanting to be seen, not realizing you are dead, and not being seen or heard. When I investigate a possible haunting....I try to get as much history about a place before I go there. I then talk to and listen very closely to the people that are living the haunting. I then try to think about how I would feel if I were in the ghosts shoes. If I were the old lady that loved my house......and I can't figure out why these people are here, or who they are, or why they came here without being invited. If you stop and think about it, you might stumble onto a different way of addressing your next investigation. I am by no means a psychic or a sensitive......These people have abilities that I cannot even begin to fathom......what I am driving at here is that I think that we could all have the ability of EP. Life is how we perceive it to be. What one person would think is a bad thing, might be a good thing to someone else. It really all boils down to are you a "glass half empty/glass half full" person. We tend to forget (and I include myself in this statement) that these ghosts were once human. They might be holding onto human emotions, they might be holding onto loved ones they cannot bear to leave, heck.....we might even be ghosts to them. Maybe we are their EVP's.......their ghosts......maybe they would just prefer to be left alone to their eternity and we are actually haunting them when we return to a place over and over again. What I am driving at here is that EP is not an ability......it is a different way of looking at things. It is a way of putting yourself into their situation, and maybe find some answers without ever asking one question in an EVP session. This "Think outside of the Box" thing that I always talk about......this is where it begins for me. Thanks for reading my blogs. Ghosthunter Dan ![]() How many of you look up into the sky at night and think that we are the only intelligent beings in the entire galaxy? If you believe that......My opinion is that you would be wrong. We have scientists in the United States.......heck worldwide.....that search the night skies looking for life beyond the boundaries of our Earth. One of the largest entities in the US - SETI - searches the skies every single minute of every single day......waiting for that message that says, "We're Here!" Many people think that aliens have visited us, or visit us on a very regular basis. If you browse Youtube, and come across a gentleman named Bob Lazar.......you will be in for a bombshell. Bob Lazar worked in Area 51 for years. He was a scientist hired to back engineer an anti-matter propulsion system from a wrecked spacecraft that is currently in possession of our government. What he further goes on to give accounts of is astonishing. I believe that mankind as its own little nitch in the interstellar community is in it's infancy. We can only hope that someday we will become aware of life on another planet. The number of planets in the Milky Way Galaxy alone that could sustain life forms is exponential. The Milky Way Galaxy when thought of being compared to the entire Universe......is a tiny little speck on your arm......that you would need a microscope to see. Aliens are a possibility. It is the belief of mankind that the Earth belongs to us. I actually look at it this way.......we are simply renting this planet for as long as Mother Nature or a race that is vastly superior to us technologically.....allows it. It is in out nature to build and marvel at our advances.........If I were an alien......I would be laughing at our thought process. We can't even get along on Social Sites.......how in the heck can we ever expect to offer an alien species anything but a comedy routine? Look at Mother Nature and realize one thing people.......The Earth......(the planet that our technology is killing every single day) is the most valuable thing that we have. To an alien race looking for natural resources......we are merely lice on the head of Mother Nature. My hope is that we are smart enough and resourceful enough to not be looked at that way. My hope is that if we ever have an intelligent encounter with Aliens......that they see our potential......and not our knack for destroying what we are given. I often blog about ghosts and life after death......but that isn't the only thing I think about. I think about the not possibility.....but probability that someday soon we will be made aware that we are not alone. I also blog about the "Zombie Apocalypse" on another blog that I do........and that is for fun.......but the real apocalypse I would be more concerned about.......the great big planet that we dwell upon that would be worth more to an alien race than the ants that are occupying it. Think it about it. Ghosthunter Dan ![]() Have any of you ever went someplace, and you felt a certain feeling in the pit of your stomach that you should get the heck out? Tonight I am blogging about that very situation. The picture attached to this blog tonight is of me. I was standing in front of a graveyard that is attached to a church. This graveyard is very old, and from research and speaking with many people about the history surrounding it.......has been around since Illinois became a State. That was in 1818. I have seen gravestones in our area that I could make out the year of 1810.......this graveyard is that old. The thing about old places like this is the fact that many people in the old days used to rob bodies out of old graveyards out in the middle of nowhere. Now it is my belief that anybody that would dig up the grave of somebody that has been placed into the ground for their eternal rest has to be crazy. I am also here to say that these things did in fact happen. In the 1800's they did not seal caskets in vaults. You could dig up a grave, break into the casket, and make off with certain valuables that may have been buried with a family member. The reason I am telling you all of this - I am trying to establish that if my grave was disturbed by "grave robbers" it would most likely make my spirit restless, and would also piss me off. Now with the age of this graveyard, and the history, and the location........all add up to a graveyard filled with some pretty upset entities. Now I am not "sensitive" nor do I claim to have any sensitivity what so ever.......but the night that I visited the "Creepy Church" as my good friend Larry coined it.....was one of those nights that I went against my gut. I felt very uneasy as we approached the church that night. I had been there dozens of times, I had photographed the graveyard for another page I take part in, and had been there many times at night with friends to investigate and take EVP's and pics from the perimeter. (We never break the perimeter without permission.) Each time I had been there, I had never felt creeped out, or had never felt the desire to get the heck out. On this night, I felt it. On this night, I sucked it up, and went anyway. I had friends out from Chicago, and I wasn't going to let them down with some creepy feeling I had. We pressed on, and I did an EVP session from the fence line with my good friend Marcia. I had an experience that night that followed me home. If I had listened to my gut.......I would not have had to deal with it. I never told the others in the group with me that night about my feelings, nor did I share my apprehension or what I had experienced that night until later when it was too late. I'll blog about what Larry and I had to do to get rid of the nasty "attachment" we dealt with on a different blog. My point tonight is this......If you don't feel right about something, or someplace......don't go in. Putting on the brave face may only get you trouble that you didn't bargain for at a later time. I have always blogged and written - "DO NO HARM" in many of my blogs.....this mainly means to yourself. If you get something to follow you home, or something that you didn't bargain for.....you can't help anybody else, or investigate anything else very easily. Many people may read this and think.......bullshit.....and that's fine. If just 1 person reads it, and remembers what I am saying, It helped. Take care everyone, and remember always that many of us do this to help and for a hobby........not to cause you or your family unbelievable and horrifying nights after you decide to "man up". Ghosthunter Dan ![]() It was an early December night at around 3:00 a.m. We had just stopped at this cemetery, and it was the last cemetery on our tour that night. My sister, niece, and buddy were with me at this cemetery. We had been out shooting pics for about 20 minutes and it was getting pretty cold out. My sister and niece had already returned to the car and were waiting for my buddy and I to get back to the car. As we were walking back, I turned to my right, and snapped this picture. There was no particular reason, just wanted to grab one more pic for the night. When I started looking through the pics the next day, I discovered this guy peeking around the stone at me. One of the first and best pics i have gotten to date. I'll be posting more pics and blogs soon. Thanks for checking us out. Ghosthunter Dan ![]() What is it that makes a ghost? Is a ghost truly the remnants of a human soul, or is a ghost a shattered glimpse of what is left over from a tragic fate. I sit up at night and ponder these things when I try to comprehend what they are going through. I have a belief that death does not end a soul that is in torment. Could it be the Lord's way of making somebody pay a penance, or relive a certain chain of events until the soul of that individual learns a lesson? I have tried to place myself into those situations in my fictional writings, and I sometimes think while I am writing.......maybe this is their Hell. Very recently, I have involved myself in a case that has made me question these things once more. Out of respect for what a family has gone through.......I won't give details.....I'll only say that I have asked a friend to help me try and find the reason that this soul might still be in agony, and try to help her find peace. That is the most important thing.....isn't it? To help a tortured soul find peace........to help a frightened family find peace. Instead of focusing on the latest and greatest haunted spots......and how much better we are than other teams.....maybe we should really place into perspective what we really need to be considering here. In the case I mentioned above.......I believe the soul remnants of a murdered person cannot quit running from its pursuer. Night after night she runs, and is caught. She is beaten, raped, tortured, and finally meets the end of her human existence by a blunt object striking her in the side of her head. This is only a doorway. A tragic beginning of forever for a tortured and lost soul trying to now find peace. If we cannot be good detectives, and think way outside of the box here........we may be of no use to this soul at all.......but my feeling is that if we look at things from the ghost's point of view, and make a bit of a different approach........maybe she will hear us. Maybe she will realize that she met her end of human existence that night. Maybe she will finally find peace. This investigation will have no pictures to view, it will have no recordings to hear by the dedicated followers of this blog and our fan pages........it will be done by our commitment of helping others......living or deceased, that will be good enough for us. There are 2 reasons for this blog tonight. Number 1 - Nik and I could use some positive thoughts from our friends and fans to help a tortured soul. Number 2 - I want you to all think long and hard before your next ghosthunt or investigation.....what are we really seeing and hearing. Is it a voice or an image of somebody needing help, or is it a tortured and battered soul that continues to run with no end in sight for eternity. Looking at it that way for me..........makes it much more important than how many likes I receive for a photo on facebook or retweets I get on twitter. This is why we do this......isn't it? Hmmmm....maybe there is a 3rd message in this blog.....but I'll let you all determine what that one is. Ghosthunter Dan I have made my way around Northern Illinois looking for possible evidence of hauntings. I have thought about many different reasons for these hauntings, I have discussed many different theories, and even come up with a few theories of my own. The reason for today's blog........I am going to continue to look outside of my own back door for these hauntings. I have captured EVP's, interesting photos, and some strange video.......and I have not even traveled over 30 miles to do most of it. Now don't get me wrong......I would love to travel to Villisca, Waverly Hills, and many other haunted spots.......and I am completely in awe when I scan pics taken of these places when people I know are lucky enough to get in at these spots......but for now......my feeling is that I can contribute right here, close to home, and be just as content right here. I know that all the places that I mentioned above are in fact, most likely haunted. I am more interested in the places that not everybody knows about. I have the good fortune to live 13 miles from where the very first parts of the Blackhawk War were fought. When I walk around these sites........I wonder what it was like for the militia soldiers that were defending this state were going through.......those are the stories I want to tell. Thanks for following me on Youtube, Facebook, and Twitter.
